Make Your Own Mouse Beanie Pet or Beanbag

My children are sewing beanbags (from recycled socks). They are easy and fun to make.

• Fold sock over at the heel (See below)
• The toe forms the head and the heel is the bottom!
• Cut straight across for the easy option or
•  If the heel is good, cut round it so it folds over like an envelope
• Fill with dried beans, rice or pulses
• Turn under the raw edges, pin together and hand-sew
• Add a tail of plaited wool, felt or button eyes, mouth and whiskers...

Decorate as you wish, but we kept it minimal for easy catching and throwing!

• Why not try making your own Kitty or Bunny Beanie Pet?

Beanies are handy for keeping boredom at bay. We play the game below with empty tins, but you could use empty plastic bottles. 

 Ooh! They make perfect wrist rests, too...
