Results of Summer Pruning are in...

This year, we had lots of rain and sunshine in Spring.  My young trees put on a lot of growth. If we didn't prune the branches and thin out the apples, we could have lost our first crop of apples or worse, the tree branches might have torn off under the weight of the apples.

Here are the pictures of the fruit... Both varieties are late bearers and can be picked this month and they are scrumptious, large and healthy!  We lost no fruit in recent gales...so I can see the benefits of Summer pruning.

Have your apples been good this year? Please share your experiences with us below...
