DIY and Home-Made Christmas Present Ideas!

Jam, Jellies and Sauces (could also go into hampers with a box of tea, tin of coffee and fancy biscuits).  Visit my Jam and Cordial Board for Inspiration.

Tinsel, wrapping paper, Christmas labels and ribbons make an ordinary jar look fabulous!

Christmas Cakes and Bakes
If you have time or enjoy baking, a home-made Christmas Cake is a good present.  I make at least 3 and lace them with brandy on the run up to Christmas. I use McDougall's Christmas Cake Recipe.

Hot Chocolate in a Cone
Reindeer Hot Chocolate Gift  I love these! Good for children to make and give to friends or teachers.

Sweetie Cones
These are a great for last-minute gifts!  You can add small gifts, bags of sweets and loose sweets for a pick-and-mix effect. See tutorial below for ideas...Adapt thee for adults too, use chocolates or truffles.

Knitting and Sewing Gifts
I have made rag dolls and doll's clothes, children's leggings and dresses.  One year, my Mum made me a dressing-up Indian Squaw's dress which was my favourite present.  Here are two aprons I made for my girls.  An apron and some bakeware would make a great present.

Craft Fairs, Christmas Fairs and School Fetes are wonderful for hand-made items: knitted toys, blankets, cushions.  You can find hand-made cards and jewellery and gifts at a fraction of the price on the High Street!

Photo Gifts
Most photographic shops offer opportunities to make calendars, photo collages, canvases, mugs and smaller gifts like key chains and snow globes.  The calendars are very popular with my family and I make them for everyone!

Christmas Plants
You can take cuttings of your own house plants, grow them on and wrap them up yourself in Christmas paper, baubles and tinsel!

No plants of your own? There are always a great selection of plants, pots and bulbs in the Garden Centre at Christmas. Why not purchase one of those?

Christmas Cactus and Poinsettia's are perfect gifts for plant lovers!

 Happy Shopping, Everybody! :)
