DIY Sugared Violets

Have you ever made your own sugared violets?  It is easy... I picked mine before the lawn-mower got them!

Ingredients
Approx 20 violets with their stalks on
Fine granulated sugar
Egg white
Pick your violets, wash carefully and keep the stalks on.
 When dry, paint each petal carefully (on both sides) with egg white.
Use a teaspoon or fine sieve to drizzle sugar over the violet's petals.
 Make sure you cover every part of the violet with sugar, front and back.
 Place flowers face down on grease-proof baking paper to dry overnight.
 The flowers are delicate, but when dry, peel off, snip off the stem and use to decorate cakes.
Ta da! The icing was a bit runny, but the sugared violets look lovely on these Easter Muffins.
