Have you forgotten yours?
Keeping a resolution is difficult. Life gets in the way. This year is difficult with 2 kids in 2 different schools and 4 ageing parents with illness and hospital visits. That is enough to derail any decent keep-fit campaign!
Tip 1: Be kind to yourself, but don't give up. Pick yourself up and keep going.
Did I keep my resolution?
So far, so good. There are times when life takes over and family takes priority. Sometimes I miss the gym because of a sick child or hospital trip: I accept that and keep fit in other ways: a Pilates class and exercises at home. I have stairs to run up and down, a garden to run round, or the village! Digging anybody? These things sound small, but it all helps and it works for me.
Tip 2: Find an exercise that you enjoy. If it is fun and you enjoy it, it feels easier...
I am loving...
Hula hooping! It's an amazing way to work your core muscles and get stronger. It is so much fun fun, too. I can do this for 10 minutes before the school run or whilst watching the telly. The arm hoops are good for strengthening your arm muscles and banishing bingo wings! There are lots of You Tube videos out there to inspire you. See the links below...
We walk a lot together as a family and a breath of fresh air does wonders for both mind and body. Whatever the weather, we get out there...
