Patches!

We love patches.  They do more than cover up holes: they make ordinary clothes unique and breathe life into those destined for the bin!

This patch brightened up a plain fleece jacket.
The materials were stuck together with double-sided bondaweb and sewed on, before fraying the edges.
My daughter's shorts ripped, so we made it a feature. Spot the birdie!
Favourite black leggings were patched at the knee with shiny jersey and a zigzag stitch to stretch in every direction...
Tip: Spray starch stiffens slippery material, making it easier to sew.
Patches and lace are a great way to give your jeans a vintage look.
